Eagle River Water & Sanitation District (District) is a local government responsible for the public water systems and wastewater treatment system that serve communities in the eastern half of Eagle County, Colorado; roughly Vail to Cordillera.
The District is a Colorado Special District that was formed July 1, 1996, with the consolidation of Upper Eagle Valley Consolidated Sanitation District and the Vail Valley Consolidated Water District. The District’s service area encompasses approximately 54,000 acres in Eagle County.
The District owns, operates, and maintains the public water system that serves the Town of Vail. In addition, the District is contracted by Upper Eagle Regional Water Authority (Authority) to operate and maintain the public water system that serves the metropolitan districts of Arrowhead, Bachelor Gulch, Beaver Creek, Berry Creek, Cordillera, Eagle-Vail, and Edwards, along with the Town of Avon.
